Gung Ho! Pizza Branding, Design and Marketing
Founded in 2010, Gung Ho! Pizza was a F&B startup that disrupted Beijing's fast casual and food delivery sectors by providing high quality pizza, sustainable development and fast, convenient delivery.
Along the way Gung Ho! won Beijing's coveted top Pizza Cup award 3 times, as well as numerous other awards for pizza, food and service. We were also the first restaurant group in China to become fully B-Corp certified by meeting exacting standards in social and environmental impact.
As co-founder, brand and marketing director of Gung Ho! Pizza, I was in charge of all branding and brand design, marketing and communications including social media, packaging design and production, as well as events and activations.
Over the years the brand saw significant change, transforming from a disruptive upstart into a fast casual restaurant chain. Our branding evolved from it's cheeky hot pink roots to a more mature look and feel better suited for the expanding and ever more trend-forward Chinese middle class.
Our New Zealand origins (at least the origins of our 2 core founders) was key to our brand identity, underlining our focus on high quality food and ingredients, fostering collaborations with Anchor / Fonterra, Moa Beer, Silver Fern, Zealong Tea and Villa Maria Wines.
