PROJECT LEAD / CREATIVE SUPPORT | MASH BRANDS
From a single luxury brand to the diverse range of hospitality offerings on offer today, Banyan Group is an independent, global hospitality company with a purpose: creating exceptional, design-led experiences across hotels, spas, residences, food and retail, with a portfolio of brands that cater to the diversity of our world.
With a portfolio of 10 hotel and resort brands under their purview ranging from midscale to luxury, that challenge is not just to create but to maintain and evolve a unique differntiated brand identity for each brand. Something visually and tonally distinct, that spotlights each brand's individual character and audience, that can live and grow across all brand touchpoints.
During my time at Mash I led a number of branding, brand strategy, and communication projects with Banyan Group, including the production of 5 brand videos, for portfolio brands Angsana, Dhawa, Garrya, and Homm, as well as a group brand video for Banyan Group. On this project I led an international team, managing project and production at the project level, supporting with creative concept, copy and visuals where needed, along with production and film experts Alex Watkins from Extropic, Vladi Korn, Max Ourik and Karan Ditkaew from Alpha Ground, and Valentin Gallone from Slaaaaash Films.
BANYAN GROUP // EDIT + ANIMATION
To commemorate Banyan Group's recent brand architecture evolution and group brand identity redesign, we created a brand group video from their deep database of brand material, celebrating their vision and their impressive portfolio of brands.
The BG Scope design was programmed in After Effects with the help of AI to create a flexible, dynamic, and fully editable animation asset. Alpha Ground led the edit, and Slaaaaash Films created the animation.
ANGSANA // SHOOT + PRODUCTION + EDIT
For the luxury resort Angsana, we began with a narrative developed by Extropic, with Alpha Ground shooting brand new footage on location at their Laguna Phuket property. We combined this with a wealth of brand footage from their global properties, created a dynamic and wide ranging piece of brand communications.
HOMM // SHOOT + PRODUCTION
As the first new post-brand refresh HOMM property, we wanted to do something unique to spotlight the unique character of the brand, and in particular, its focus on celebrating local community and culture. We started with a beautifully concise little story from Extropic, and shot on location in Bangkok by Alpha Group. The split screen allowed us to showcase the range of experiences available, both inside and outside the hotel.
DHAWA // EDIT + ANIMATION
As a vibrant and young midscale hotel brand aimed at young Generation Z travellers, we wanted this edit to feel more enegetic and dynamic. This can be felt from the music selection, editing, and transitions, through to the animation and typographic design. The video edit and animation was created by Slaaaaash Films.
GARRYA // EDIT
With a wealth of stunning footage available, the brand video for the urban wellness-focused Garrya brand was light touch, allowing the beauty of the footage to do the heavy lifting. Concept and captions by Extropic, edit by Alpha Ground.
