Local Craft Cider brand Ping Dynasty was looking to challenge China's overwhelming predilection for beer (introduced by Germans to Tsingtao in 1903) and needed a fun and engaging brand identity to drive the wedge.

Inspired by old Shanghai poster and product designs of the 1930's, the goal of this brand design was to speak authentically to local Chinese in an bold new way.

These labels literally became the face of the brand, driving activation and engagement opportunities and ideation, and also broke open a new segment of the market - female friends of beer drinkers who did not like the taste of beer.
